Why did you choose to join the MSMVCD Board of Trustees? / Why is the mission of mosquito and vector control important to you?

After 35+ years working in various forms of Environmental and Vector Control I felt that I could still contribute to the field of vector control. The best way for me to accomplish that was to endeavor to be appointed to the MSMVCD Board of Trustees by the Town of Windsor.

What is your relevant expertise?

I worked for over 14 years as a Sonoma County Environmental Health Specialist and over 20 years as a Public Health Biologist for the Vector-Borne Disease Section of the California Department of Public Health.
I have also authored or co-authored 16 publications on Ticks, Tick-Borne Diseases, and Mosquito Surveillance.

Educational/Professional  background:

I earned a Biology degree from San Jose State University.

I obtained the following Licenses and Certifications from the State of California:

  •     Registered Environmental Health Specialist: Certificate number 4086
  •     Vector Control Technician: Certificate number 80001339
  •     Vertebrate Vector Control, 1978
  •     Mosquito Control, 1990
  •     Terrestrial Invertebrate Vector Control, 1990
