Teacher Companion Site

Overview:

  • This site is intended for teachers who want to prepare their students for a scheduled vector presentation, or want to continue learning about vectors afterwards. Some of the activities can be used whether you've scheduled a mosquito, yellowjacket or tick presentation.

Before the presentation:

  • Our presentations are designed so that you do not need to do anything in advance to prepare your students for the lesson. However, if you have time, let your students know what vector they will be learning about and discuss the following questions. We will answer the questions during the presentation.
  • What is a vector?
  • What do you already know about this vector?
  • Have you heard anything about this vector that you weren't sure was true?
  • What do you want to learn about this vector?

Follow-up activities:

  • These activities are provided as a means to expand upon what was learned in the presentation.
